Spyware is a nasty thing to get. It can lead to system lock ups, Stop errors (BsoD), and unwanted programs that are extremely hard to get rid of. But do not fear, because there is a solution to the problem and a way to get rid of the pesky Spyware. But before we get into how to save your computer from the evil forces of Spyware, allow me to first tell you just what they disguised as.

Spyware can be disguised as a multitude of different things. One of the most common that people run into is the ones that pretend to be spyware removal tools. In reality, they will try and delete what they want, while adding programs, files, and other malicious things. The easiest way to combat this is by only using software that is well known and used by fellow Computer/IT technicians. A common website to find such trusted software is cnet.com

So now onto how to actually get rid of this evil named spyware. The first step is to get the software that will be installed to get rid of the spyware. I would suggest getting Malwarebytes' Anit-Malware and Super Anti-Spyware or Spyware Doctor. Put these on a thumb drive (USB).

The second step is to get into safe mode, preferably safe mode with networking. To do this, spam either the F5 or F8 key when the computer is booting up. Then select the mode you would like the computer to boot up in, whether its last known good configuration, safe mode, or any other mode that your computer has available.

Next, once the computer is booted up, plug the USB in that has your anti-spyware programs, and install the software. Then, it is a matter of running the programs to get rid of the spyware. After your first run of both programs, restart the computer and run the programs again, but do so in normal mode. Continue this process for about two to three times. If by the third time you haven't been able to virtually get rid of the spyware, it may be time for bigger guns.
